Math Team
This past Saturday, eight seventh- and eighth-graders from Manhattan Country School's math team attended the Manhattan-wide Mathcounts competition at Stuyvesant High School. Some highlights of the day included rooms abuzz with the sounds of collaborative problem solving and a math talk in which we learned that tearing a sheet of newsprint in half, stacking the two sheets together and repeating the process 52 times would result in a stack so tall that it would stretch past the sun!   Read more
Parent_Led Forum
On February 2, the Manhattan Country School Parents’ Association hosted its second Parent-Led Forum entitled “Childhood Gender Exploration and Community Support of Gender-Expansive Peoples.” After light refreshments we sat for a panel discussion featuring MCS community members Alaina Daniels (Upper School science teacher), Laleña Garcia (5-6s teacher), Daniel Morales (MCS parent) and Kahli Mootoo (MCS PA co-president). Sick stuffed animals
We have had a few diagnosed cases of influenza (flu) at Manhattan Country School. The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza A or B viruses. For most people, the flu is generally an acute, self-limited and uncomplicated illness. However, it can lead to severe illness for some. Read more
Girls Varsity Basketball
All Upper School students and families are invited to attend a free ACL Injury Prevention Workshop presented by the Hospital For Special Surgery, Sports Safety ACL Program. Read more
MCS Community Basketball Game
Manhattan Country School's annual Community Basketball Game is next Friday. Lace up your sneakers and join the game. If hoops aren't your thing, you can cheer on the players from the bleachers. Before the game and at half time, young basketball enthusiasts can try their hand at dribbling and shooting challenges. Read more
