Thank you to all of the students, staff, parents and alumni who joined us on Friday, February 12 for our annual Community Basketball Game at the 92nd Street Y. The alumni were represented by Zack Lee ‘15 (who played against his brother, Jory ‘18) and Ricky Castillo ‘92, a current MCS parent (who played alongside his daughter, Ana ‘19). On the night following MCS’ Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative March, roughly 100 alumni, parents, staff, and friends gathered at Helen Mills Event Space and Theater for a screening of the documentary, “Stretch & Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives”. The film highlighted the history and impact of Stretch Armstrong (Adrian Bartos ‘83) and Bobbito Garcia’s underground 1990’s hip-hop show on WKCR, broadcasted from Columbia University. Read more
