Offered Monday through Friday, MCS’s after school program provides families with extended-day coverage through a wealth of activities for students from the 4-5s through 9-10s and, depending on interest, Fifth and Sixth Grades. African drumming, ceramics, nature exploration, sports, language classes, musical theater, and coding are some examples of the types of classes offered in after school, where children learn by doing — a Manhattan Country School credo.
The hallmark of MCS’s after school program is mixed-age groupings, where children of different grades interact, learn from each other, and form friendships. There are two sessions of after school each academic year (known as Fall Session and Spring Session), with no gap between sessions to ensure continued extended-day coverage.
